Dimetrodon>>ansehen<<
Dimetrodon limbatus is a predatory Pelycosauria among early permians. (Sakmarian age, about 295 million years ago) in the southwestern United States, primarily in the Admiral Formation of Texas. Dimetrodon limbatus is the most studied species. It reached a length of 2.6 meters.
Ophiacodon retroversus is a large predatory Pelycosauria which reached a length of 2.5 – 3.5 meters and probably had a semi-aquatic lifestyle. Monotonous teeth structure as well as two temporal fenestrae of certain individuals lead to the idea that Ophiacodon may have belonged to Diapsid reptiles and is related to modern crocodiles.
Seymouria – Reptiliomorpha reached a length of 60 cm.

Embolotherium>>ansehen<<
Embolotherium is a big equine mammal up to 2.5 meters at the shoulder, which lived in what is now Mongolia during the late Eocene and Oligocene. Unlike many other brontotheres of the late Eocene, there is no clear evidence that embolotherium was sexually dimorphic. All known specimens had a big bony horn. Compared with solid and strong horns of the North American brontotheres, embolotherium’s horn was hollow and brittle and could not serve as a weapon for competition between males. A horn may have served as a special cavity for producing sounds. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that the bony nasal cavity was located at the top of the horn. This means that the nasal section was significantly elevated, thereby creating a resonating chamber.

Olorotitan>>ansehen<<
Olorotitan (Latin for „a swan- titanium“) is a genus of ornithischian dinosaurs from the Hadrosauridae family, whose fossilized remains were discovered in Amur region (Russia) (in the late Maastrichtian formation 65 million years.). This dinosaur was one of the largest members of its family reaching 12 meters in length. It is characterized by unique features for the Hadrosauridae, the most obvious of which is uniquely shaped crest crowning the skull. The neck consisted of 18 vertebrae, while the greatest number of vertebrae of other Hadrosauridae equals fifteen. The sacrum consisted of 15 vertebrae, that exceeds three times the number of sacral vertebrae of other Hadrosauridae.

Eryops>>ansehen<<
Eryops megacephalus (Greek „drawn-out face“) is a representative of temnospondyls among early permians. (Sakmarian age, about 295 million years ago) in the southwestern United States, primarily in the Admiral Formation of Texas. Eryops was a big predator of its time, which could compete with many land synapsids. Unlike most other temnospondyls, it had a strong body and legs. However its bone microanatomy indicates aquatic or semi-aquatic lifestyle. Eryops, most likely, was not an active hunter, and attacked its prey from an ambush. Its main prey was fish and small quadrupeds.

Andrewsarchus>>ansehen<<
Andrewsarchus mongoliensis is an extinct giant carnivorous mammals living in the era of middle – late Eocene 45-36 million years ago in Central Asia. It belongs to the Triisodontidae family from the Mesonychia squad. These animals are primitive hoofed animals close to the ancestors of whales and cloven-hoofed animals having five-fingered (or four-fingered) limbs with hooves on each finger. If you assume relatively larger head size (83 cm) and a lower leg length, the body length could be up to 3.5 meters and the height at the shoulders – up to 1.6 meters. The weight could reach one ton.
